DALSTON SUNRISE FUND
Dalston Sunrise is a purpose driven beer where we a shine a light on some of Hackney's grass root charities doing great work in our community.
We first released this beer as we emerged from the first lockdown in July 2021 and saw it as a new dawn for our community as well as for us as a business that has struggled for survival in the pandemic.
We are committed to donating 10% of the profits from our can sales to local charity organisations. Our staff nominate a charity championing causes that align with their and our company's values.
To date we have donated to:
CULTURAL EVENTS
Our home, Hackney, is the most diverse borough in all of Europe. The founders of the brewery themselves are migrants and so celebrating the cultures and communities within Hackney has always been a big part of what we do.
Every year we host a St Patrick's Day event and have hosted parties celebrating the Turkish and Jamaican communities.
BOOTSTRAP CHARITY
Our landlord are Bootstrap Charity which is comprised of three large buidings next to our yard;
The Print House, Fitzroy House and Colourworks. Bootstrap Charity is a workspace and business-led charity that promotes responsible business as a way to address inequality in Hackney.
There are over 75 companies based in Bootstrap,many of which are customers in our taproom.
Bootstrap offers charity tenants cheaper rents and funds social enterprise tenants to run employment programmes for young people, and draw on tenants and partners to support this work as mentors and industry experts.
