WORKING WITH US

 

Salaries - We pay London Living Wage of £13.15 as a minimum. 

4 Day Week - In January 2023 we committed to putting our production team on a 4 day (32 hour) work week while keeping their wages the same as their previous 5 day, 40 hour contracts. This followed a 3 month trial at the end of 2022. Each of our three brewers receive a dedicated week day off each week, increased hourly rate of pay while keeping their previous salaries. Production increased by 20% in 2023.

Hackney Works - We work closely with Hackney Council to create roles for local residents with additional needs and long term unemployed. 

  

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Employing staff is a responsibility with a duty of care that extends beyond remuneration. 

Private Health Cover - Full Time employees receive Private Health Cover with Vitality who promote healthy living with education, incentives for healthy living and access to GPs online. This helps reduce our burden on the NHS.

Employee Assistance Programme - We work with BHFS to offer free confidential counselling and advice service for all staff for Stress, Anxiety, Emotional problems, Relationship difficulties, Bereavement, Family issues, Debt, Legal info. 

Wagestream - All staff have access to draw down their wages before payday as well as access to discounts through Wagestream's partners. 

Company Gym Membership - We work with neighbouring Gympods to offer full time staff credits for cardio and strength sessions. 

Personal Development - We encourage development and over the years have supported our brewers with the cost of their Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) exams. 

40ft Beer Allowance - We worked with our staff to create a policy in relation to access to alcohol. Although staff should be able to enjoy the product that they are integral in making, we have a duty of care to ensure that we are not enabling any bad relationships with it. Collectively, we agreed a framework by which we could each hold each other accountable.

TAPROOM MANAGER 

Job Overview

We are a small, driven team looking for a Bar Manager to join us as we enter what will be our busiest period yet at 40FT Brewery. 

The candidate will report into our Operations Manager helping to refine and grow the hospitality side of our business. 

 

Renumeration

£15ph (approx £31,200 pa) plus bonus.

Operations Manager. 

 

Start Date

January 2025

 

Work Hours

The successful candidate can expect an average 40 hours per week, Monday - Sunday. Rotas are prepared two weeks in advance.

ORDER & DELIVERIES COORINDATOR  

 

About the Role:

This is a varied and dynamic role that combines sales ordering, logistics management with hands-on delivery driving. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our delivery service, from taking orders,  scheduling routes to personally delivering our products to customers.

 

Location:

Dalston, London.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Order processing:

  • Using our order capture software Breww to process all orders, creating delivery notes for each drop. These will be electronically signed as part of the route.
  • Orders are received either by email or as standing orders with specific instructions.
  • Bar analytics. We have a number of customers with BA installed which offers great insight into stock levels and quality. Devising your own timeline for a week and how to maximise this.

Driving: 

 

  • This involves approximately 25 hours of driving per week + around 3 hours per day preparing and planning (mainly Tuesday - Friday), using a 40ft delivery van or your own vehicle under your own insurance.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes across London using scheduling software, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our customers, factoring in any specific delivery windows and instructions.
  • Vehicle Management: Maintain our delivery vehicle, ensuring daily checks are done so that our vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and properly serviced. 
  • Liaise with Account Managers to monitor quality of service and keep accurate records for efficient delivery.
  • Keep one eye on each customer's bar setup as you complete rounds and uncover opportunities and insight.

 

Warehouse management: 

  • Manually picking orders, and organising empty keg returns.
  • Manage pallet orders and event logistics.
  • Handling a variety of formats, including kegs, cans, bottles inc. (Manual handling 40kgs+)

About You:

  • Experienced Driver: You possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and are confident navigating London roads.
  • Forklift counterbalance licence (or willingness to learn – training provided)
  • Knowledge & experience of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, Teams (desired) / BREWW
  • Strong Work Ethic: You are reliable, punctual, and have a proactive approach to your work and the service you provide.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You can communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Team Player: You are a collaborative team player who is willing to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working environment.

TAPROOM STAFF

We are seeking friendly and skilled individuals to join our team as Bar Staff within our Taproom at 40ft Brewery. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests. If you have a passion for hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Duties:

- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner

- Take drink orders and prepare beverages according to established recipes

- Provide recommendations on drink selections and upsell additional items

- Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies

- Handle payment transactions accurately and efficiently

- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Experience:

- Previous experience in hospitality

- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Basic knowledge of Craft Beer is a plus
